Mint is one of our favourite and most distinctive flavours, so it’s no surprise it has been in use for thousands of years as a foodstuff and for its medicinal properties.
Mint can grow in almost any temperate climate, but today the main source of mint is perhaps not where you’d expect – Egypt. Despite being a mostly arid country, mint grows along the fertile, flood-irrigated banks of the Nile.
Picked by hand, mint is a robust herb which doesn’t need replanting time and time again, it simply regrows every six weeks.
Our mint is picked and dried on the same day to preserve its natural flavour and aroma.
