For our recipe you will need...
1 tbs oil
1 onion, sliced
675g (1 1/2lbs) red cabbage, sliced 1 apple, peeled and sliced
225ml (8fl oz) cider
1. Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion and cook for 45 minutes, until golden brown and softened.
2. Stir in the cabbage, apple and sachet contents. Pour in the cider, stir and bring to the boil.
3. Cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 2025 minutes, or until the cabbage is soft and tender.
For a little inspiration...
Ideal with roast turkey and all the trimmings. Try adding a handful of sultanas and the zest of an orange with the cabbage and apple for an extra fruity kick.
