A classic Italian-style lasagne of layered pasta and a rich tomato and meat sauce topped with a cheese sauce. A great family favourite, delicious served with garlic bread and salad.
  • 450 gram (1 pound) extra lean beef mince beef

  • 1 sachet Lasagne Spice Mix

  • 150 millilitre (¼ pint) water

  • 400 gram tin chopped tomatoes

  • 1 tablespoons tomato purée

  • 6 sheets lasagne pasta

  • 300 millilitre (½ pint) white sauce

  • 50 gram (2 ounce) Cheddar cheese, grated

  • 1 Pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4.
  • 2 Brown mince for 4-5. Drain excess liquid. Mix sachet contents with water and add to the pan with tomatoes and purée. Bring to the boil, stirring and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 3 Place alternate layers of the beef mixture and pasta into an ovenproof dish, topping with a layer of white sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • 4 Serve with tomato salad and garlic bread.
